Parking changes coming soon
Starting in mid-August, you’ll notice a change in St. Philip’s parking lot.Â
For several years, our parking lot has increasingly been used for all-day parking during the week by people who are not coming to the church. As a result, parishioners, staff, volunteers, and visitors often arrive to find the lot full.
To address that problem, on August 15, St. Philip’s will begin charging for non-church use of our parking lot.Â
Parking to come to St. Philip’s remains free.
If you’re coming to St. Philip’s for worship, a wedding, a funeral, a meeting, choir rehearsal, or any other activity at the church, you won’t have to pay to park in our lot.
On Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings, and during church events, parking will be free for everyone in our lot.
All other times, if you come to St. Philip’s for a church-related activity, park in a St. Philip’s spot if you’re able, then come into the office to sign in and validate your parking.
Why the change?
Our goal is to make parking more available for the people who come to St. Philip’s, while continuing to welcome members of the community who need short-term parking. We’re structuring the parking rates to discourage all-day parking, while still making it affordable for people to park for a short amount of time.
More details coming soon
Stay tuned – we’ll share more info soon, including exactly how parking validation and payments will work and what you’ll need to know.
