The Ryals Garden Committee was formed by the vestry to propose changes to the former community garden (corner of Main and Dillard Streets) and the Garden Close. These changes are temporary (three to seven years), as the vestry is considering a master plan for the entire church campus. This parcel is the entrance to St. Philip’s for folks approaching the church from the east and south. While most of the pending development of the corner garden will involve planting pollinator flowers, the Committee felt it would be important to identify this property both as a Christian landmark and as St. Philip’s Episcopal Church.

Accordingly, plans for the site included a sign and a cross. A sign will be installed later this year. The cross was installed last Monday. Should future campus plans call for some other use for the corner garden, the cross will be relocated to another location on the church campus. For more information contact Dan Pearson, Junior Warden.
