Dear St. Philippians,

As we enter the Epiphany season, we welcome the light of Christ that is present in our world. However, we are also aware that our world’s current circumstances are as much a part of our lives as they were in the life of Christ. Despite the light that Christ brought into the world with his miraculous birth, the Holy Family still fled to Egypt seeking protection and to ensure the ministry of Jesus later in life.

With this in mind, we at St. Philip’s want to make sure that we are protecting our people. Given the rise in the number of cases and percentage of positive tests in our community and state, the Return to Worship Committee and I have decided to pause all in-person activities until Ash Wednesday. We will continue to offer the 10 AM live stream on Sunday for you to worship from home. We encourage our digital gatherings to continue as they are able. This includes programming for children and youth, small group gatherings, committee meetings, book club, and the important participation in upcoming search committee events.

Know that the many ministries at St. Philip’s continue and the church will not stop our commitment to Worship, Love, and Action in the name of Jesus Christ in our community and beyond.

Stay safe, and God’s blessings be upon you,

The Rev. Stephen Mazingo, Interim Rector
Sue Guptill, Return to Worship Committee Chair
