Creating a church for all people: Give to summer renovations
Summer 2026
This summer: Paint, Plaster, & Planning
This summer, St. Philipโs will begin Phase 2 of our church renovations โ repairing plaster, painting, and planning for future work. These time-sensitive repairs will help preserve our historic space and prepare for future phases: improving accessibility, acoustics, and more changes that will make our church more welcoming to all.
Once funded, the work will take 8โ10 weeks, with all worship in the parish hall during that time. Renovation plan detailsย
We need your help
To do this needed work, we need to raise $176,000 in one-time gifts by April 30. Vestry and Sacred Spaces committee members have already committed to giving, and we hope you’ll join them.
Every gift matters, whether itโs $10 or $10,000. And it’s super important that everyone who can participate โ even a little bit โ does. Why? Because when we apply for grants for Phase 3, funders will want to see that alllll of our members are invested and have participated.
Please give today!
Gifts may be completed by August. For help setting up installments, contact office@stphilipsdurham.org.

For the past year and a half, St. Philip’s Sacred Spaces Committee has been working on a plan to improve our church’s inside space: painting, fixing the plaster, improving accessibility and acoustics, and much more.
At the March 15, 2026, Sunday Forum, the committee unveiled their recommended renovations plan.
