How did St. Philip’s come up with its vision statement?

St. Philip’s undertook a year-long visioning process in 2024 that culminated in our vision statement. The process involved multiple visioning sessions, gathering feedback from as many St. Philippians as possible. We explored questions like, “Who are we?” “Why are we a church together?” and “What do we value?” Throughout the process, our goal was to listen carefully to discern who the Spirit is calling St. Philip’s to be.

St. Philip’s vision statement is a declaration of who we are now and where we’re going in the future. Our vision will guide future decisions as we strive to be a beacon of God’s light and love in downtown Durham.
