The common cup – the practice of sharing wine from one vessel during communion – represents our shared life in Christ. Starting Sunday, March 10, we’re pleased to see it return to our worship after a long Covid hiatus!
In this video, Maryann explains how we’ll share the wine starting Sunday, March 10:
- The Eucharistic minister will hold the cup throughout.
- If you’d like to drink from the cup, consume your wafer when the priest gives it to you and wait for the Eucharistic minister to come with the wine. The Eucharistic minister will continue to hold the cup, but you can use your hands to help guide the cup to your mouth.
- If you’d like your wafer dipped in the wine, keep holding it in your palm (just as the priest gave it to you), and the Eucharistic minister will intinct it and return it your palm for you to consume.
