Vestry Calls Interim Rector
The St. Philip’s vestry is pleased to announce that the Rev. Stephen Mazingo has accepted the call to be the Interim Rector at St. Philip’s during our transition. For the past eight years, Stephen has served as the Rector of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Fernandina Beach, Florida. He, his wife Abigail, and their daughter will relocate to the Durham area in late October and Stephen will preach on November 1, All Saint’s Day. Please click here to read the full announcement.
The Diocese of North Carolina welcomes the Rev. Dr. Sally French as Interim East Regional Canon
St. Philip’s is pleased to share that the Rt. Rev. Sam Rodman has called the Rev. Sally French to serve as the Interim East Regional Canon for the Diocese of North Carolina. In this role, Sally will work with worshiping communities in the eastern region of the diocese, including the Rocky Mount, Raleigh, and Durham convocations. She will work to develop increased collaboration and engagement among clergy and laity, and help to implement diocesan programming, including congregational development events, in support of mission priorities.
Sally has served as St. Philip’s Associate Rector since 2014 overseeing pastoral care ministries, leading adult formation, and enhancing the worship experience for children and families. Her last day at St. Philip’s will be November 8. Please click here to read the full announcement.
