Styrofoam and Textile Recycling Drive

Sunday, January 29 โ€“ Wednesday, February 22
Breezeway vestibule

Did you know most discarded textiles end up burned or in a landfill? And discarded Styrofoam takes hundreds of years to degrade. But you can help by bringing Styrofoam and textiles to St. Philipโ€™s for our winter recycling drive.

What to bring:

Styrofoam

Styrofoam food containers and cups nested together inside a cardboard box

Clean and dry food containers, cups, egg cartons, packing materials, Styrofoam coolers, etc. No Styrofoam peanuts or dirty items. Styrofoam only, please! If it looks like Styrofoam but is a little squishy, it’s not Styrofoam!

Please remove tape/labels from coolers. Remove bar codes from egg cartons. Cut Styrofoam clamshells at the hinges, then nest them (and cups) in a small box or paper bag.

Got large Styrofoam? Call Duncan (706-255-3138) to arrange a drop-off.

Textiles

Clean but unusable clothes, shoes, purses, linens, curtains, underwear, socks, leather items, etc. (Please no fabric scraps or soiled items.)

Got lots of textiles? Contact Leslie (919-638-9417).

Where to bring it:

Put your Styrofoam and textiles in the boxes in the breezeway vestibule from January 28 to February 18. You can even get in the habit of saving Styrofoam and textiles โ€“ we’ll hold more recycling drives in the future.

Want to help out?

We could use a few volunteers to help haul away materials! If you can help, call or text Duncan Krause at 706-255-3138.
