Pentecost Sunday
June 8, 2025
Get your red outfit ready – it’s almost time for Pentecost! On this holy feast day, we celebrate the Holy Spirit coming to dwell among us.
What is Pentecost?

Pentecost marks the moment the early church received the Holy Spirit. As told in the book of Acts, the disciples were suddenly lit with divine fire and began preaching the good news about Christ. People from all over the world heard this good news in their own languages, and the church as we know it was born.
Today we celebrate Pentecost not just as a historical moment, but as a living reminder that the Spirit is still moving among us in surprising, boundary-breaking ways.
Bishop Sam’s visit

This Pentecost, Bishop Sam Rodman is joining us at the 9 and 11 a.m. services, and at 11 a.m. we’ll celebrate baptisms and confirmations. He’ll also join us for our 10 a.m. Sunday Forum, “Stump the Bishop” – bring your questions about the church, spirituality, why bishops wear funny hats, and more.
Plus there’ll be lots of red streamers, red outfits, and even Pentecost-themed activities.
Pentecost is one of the great feast days of the church year – and also one of the most fun!
