Lent Book Study: For Such a Time As This

2026 Lenten reading + Wednesday discussions

Red book cover with white letters that say "For Such a Time as This: An Emergency Devotional"

This Lent, many of us carry worry, fatigue, and unease about the direction of our common life as a nation. As we find our way both individually and collectively, you’re invited to read For Such a Time as This: An Emergency Devotional, by Hanna Reichel.

In this collection of brief chapters, theologian Hanna Reichel provides a thoughtful framework for discernment rooted in scripture, historical wisdom, and the core commitments of Christian faith. Through meditations on scripture, reflections on historical precedents (including the Confessing Church’s resistance to Nazi Germany), and portraits of inspiring figures who maintained their integrity in the face of oppression, Reichel guides readers toward their own Christian response to the present moment.

We’ll also gather for optional discussions about the readings – Wednesday nights at 6:30. Join us!
