Ashes to Go will be offered in front of the church from 8 – 10 AM and 1 – 3 PM.

Season of Lent
During Lent, we will offer in-person worship on Sundays at 8, 9, and 11 AM and on Wednesdays at 5:30 PM. The 11 AM service will be live-streamed to Facebook and YouTube.

Shrove Tuesday – Pancakes Around Town
This year, we will gather in small groups in different locations around town (homes and restaurants) to share a Shrove Tuesday. If you are interested in being a group host, please contact Gabe (gabe@stphilipsdurham.org) as soon as possible. We will have more information about these gatherings in the coming days, including sign-ups.

Formation | Children and Youth

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
Sundays at 10 AM (during Lent)
Atrium time during Lent will focus on social justice issues that we are all called to help address. Our time together will be structured around:
Learn – we will learn about social justice issues in age-appropriate ways through reading and other activities
Pray – children will discover a new prayer practice each week that will line up with what youth and adults are learning
Act – children will participate in a service or other activity to build upon what they have learned that morning

Journey to Adulthood
Sundays at 10 AM (during Lent)
In 6th – 11th grade, youth will meet in their classes to explore their faith through the Journey to Adulthood curriculum. Youth will also learn about the same prayer practices that children and adults use on Sunday mornings.

Faith at Home
At best, families spend about 2 hours at church during the week with lots more time spent at home. Look out for resources for families with children and families with youth to use at home during the season of Lent. Materials will be distributed the Sunday before Lent and at Ash Wednesday services.

Questions? Please contact Ryals Minister for Families Emily Sparks (emily@stphilipsdurham.org).

Formation | Adults

Everything we do as followers of Christ flows from the soul reaching out to God, known as prayer. This year, our Lenten formation offerings will focus on different approaches to prayer that offer ways to reignite or enrich our prayer life. As a companion along the way, we will use the Rev. Rhonda Mawhood Lee’s recent book, “Seek and You Will Find.”

All gatherings will be will be hybrid-style. Join via Zoom here: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/9014030248
