Dear Friends,

As the Omicron variant of the Covid-19 virus continues to cause uncertainty during this holiday season, we find ourselves in a difficult position. With cases rising in Durham and the surrounding area, our wish is for all to remain safe and healthy. With new strongly recommended guidelines from the bishops, we are making the following changes to worship for this Sunday, January 2, 2022:

  • The 8 AM service will gather on Zoom for Morning Prayer. We will be joined by the Rev. Jenny Brown as our homilist. Join here: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81770769998.
  • There will be no 9 AM service offered this week.
  • The 11 AM service will be live streamed on Facebook and YouTube with only the clergy and necessary worship leaders. There will be no in-person attendance or singing this week.

On January 4, I will meet with the bishops, diocesan staff, and clergy for a new update. The new information offered will affect how we worship in the coming weeks. We will share updated worship information once the leadership and staff have had a chance to meet and determine the best course of action for St. Philip’s.

We continue to be grateful for your support and flexibility. This is a difficult time for all, and our priority remains the health and safety of parishioners, worship leaders, choir, staff, and our families.

The Rev. Maryann D. Younger, Rector
