Responding to Border Patrol in Durham

Border Patrol agents have been seen in our area yesterday and today. Durham city leaders say at least 20 immigration raids took place in a 24-hour period, and County Commissioner Nida Allam said at least four people have been detained in the city. Latest news
As people of faith, we denounce these actions as contrary to the teachings of Jesus Christ. If you or your neighbors are afraid or impacted, you are not alone. We are praying with you, and we are committed to showing up for justice and safety for all of our neighbors.

What you can do
If you see ICE / Border Patrol, notify:

If you see someone being detained:
- If safe, record video • Tips for recording
- Record details like agents’ faces, uniforms, and street signs
- Immediately share with Siembra NC (336-543-0353), and give the location (cross streets or landmarks, time)
Support LEAP and families with food aid
LEAP is collecting and delivering meal kits for families with young children in Durham. They hope to provide meals over the next two weeks to support families unable to leave home for fear of racial profiling.
