One of the Episcopal Church’s wonderful traditions takes place on All Saints’ Sunday when we read the Necrology – the names of those who have died in the past year and other loved ones that you wish to remember. On November 3rd, All Saints’ Sunday, we will continue this tradition here at St. Philip’s. The list of saints to be remembered will be read as we come forward to receive Holy Communion. This makes a powerful link between Holy Communion (the meal that makes us one) and the Communion of Saints (in which we are all one). As we come forward in silence for Communion, two readers will alternate in reading the Necrology. As we share the bread and wine, we will hear the names of those who have borne witness to God’s power and mercy. Names may be added to the list on the credenza or emailing Janice Glasser by 5:00 pm on Monday, October 28th.

November 3rd is also the return of Daylight Savings Time. Please remember to turn your clocks back one hour!
