Get ready for Durham’s annual Pride Parade! It’s on a Sunday this year, so our formation offering that day is walking in the the parade. Grab your rainbow gear and join us in representing A Church for All People.
We welcome congregants of all ages, genders, and orientations to join us in this annual march for justice and in celebration of the sacred dignity of every human being, standing in public witness to the local community that our church is safe, affirming, and welcomes all people into full inclusion.
Carpooling to the parade
Parking’s limited, so please consider carpooling from church together:
- 10 a.m. — Meet at Queen Street parish hall gate to carpool to parade line-up
- 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. — Walk in the Pride Parade
Meeting us at the parade
The parade will assemble on Main and Buchanan Streets. St. Philip’s is group #91, and we’ll gather on the west side of North Buchanan, near its intersection with Minerva Street (see map).
- Please meet us at our place in the parade by 10:30ish Sunday morning.
- Parking will be wherever you can legally find it, mostly in the Trinity Park neighborhoods)
Parade prep
If you have a St. Philip’s Worship • Love • Action t-shirt, please wear it. Otherwise anything St. P’s and/or rainbowy/festive is fine.
Wear comfortable shoes.
Stay hydrated!
Bottom line: Come as you are. Come when you can. We’re 10 from the end, so there’s plenty of opportunity to join us!
