Assistant to the Rector Hired: The Rev. Deacon Arianne Weeks

I am very pleased and feel blessed to have been called to serve as the Assistant to the Rector at St. Philips. My family and I are moving here from New York City where I will have earned my Master of Divinity at The General Theological Seminary of the Episcopal Church. A native New Yorker, I was sponsored by The Church of the Holy Trinity on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, which is where I got to know The Rev. Jonah Kendall.
My husband, Khris, and I met while in college at The New England Conservatory of Music where I was a Vocal Performance major and he studied Jazz and Music Theory. We lived in Boston for several years after getting married in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts. Khris is an avid composer who works in a variety of mediums and genres – electronic, acoustic and avant-garde. He is also a certified child-care teacher and was working at Trinity Wall Street’s pre-school in New York. Khris and I welcomed our beautiful daughter, Dorothea, into the world in December, 2004. She is a precocious three-year old who keeps us on our toes!
I, and my family, look forward to getting to know all of you and seeing how the Holy Spirit has been at work at St. Philips. It is with excitement and gratitude that I look towards living out my vocation in the Church and sharing in ministry with you.
